Patients hospitalized with COVID-19 are at increased risk of acute kidney injury (AKI; incidence 0.5–80%), which contributes to increased morbidity and mortality. There are limited data on the long-term (more than 12 months) effect of COVID-19-associated AKI on kidney function, especially in populations with a prevalent chronic kidney disease, such as ours.
